The Cargo Plane is a fixed-wing aircraft featured in Grand Theft Car V and Grand Theft Auto Online. Information technology is the 2nd largest controllable vehicle, by overall length, in the unabridged series, behind the RUNE Kosatka.[i]
Design
Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online
The Cargo Plane is a large military 8-engine cargo aircraft. It is mostly based on the Soviet Antonov An-124 Ruslan, with the engine configuration of a Boeing B-52 Stratofortress and main landing gear taking influence from the Antonov An-225 Mriya, with an extra pair of wheels.
Equally expected from its name and appearance, the vehicle features very big principal landing gear assemblies, each i composed of 8 sets of double wheels. The plane's default colour scheme is white as main and blue as secondary. The primary colour applies to the entire fuselage, while the secondary color is applied to stripes going downward the centre of the aircraft, and accents around the nose, winglets, engines, empennage, and top of the fuselage.
According to Ron in Minor Turbulence, its wingspan measures 200 anxiety long, however, the wingspan of the model itself measures 320 anxiety, and the overall length measures 295 feet. This gives the plane an overall perimeter of over 1200 anxiety (365 meters).
Its interior is composed of a large cargo area, with various utility items well-nigh the ramp (such equally lockers, boxes and others). In the floor, there are many light-green platforms, designed to carry vehicles without sliding and four rows of 28 seats onto the sides (intended for the cargo personnel, although they have no purpose other than ornament). The roof is covered with yellow spinning lights and the main illumination units, which are only activated when it is operation. An orange on-lath overhead crane is seen on the roof and supported by two rail (which is a standard equipment for carrying heavy objects onto the cargo bay). In the front, an orange access ladder is nowadays for access to the cockpit, along with two side doors (which open when the player leaves the plane, despite the character non using them). At the front, more cargo are seen in the olfactory organ'due south compartment, with a small unusable ladder. The shipping features a functional front cargo door, which can be opened if the histrion positions a Dozer at the front of the aeroplane, and then raises the scoop nether the cockpit to elevator the front end department up.
In the cockpit, there are two computers, which show images of a war machine operation (an area surrounded by 2 jeeps and a truck), and a dark-green screen that shows part of the map of Los Santos. It is likewise fitted with various lockers (one labeled "First Assistance"), two unusable fire extinguishers, more unusable seats and two main seats where the pilots control the airplane.
Because the vehicle is not meant to be obtained in normal gameplay, the Cargo Plane does not characteristic proper entering/leaving animations; when inbound the vehicle, the histrion character will indefinitely meet the plane earlier the game teleports them to the cockpit, and when leaving, the histrion character volition typically clip through the aircraft. When leaving the plane, the histrion can either glitch out or inside the plane. If the player pushes the control stick leftward, they volition walk through the fuselage and country next to the aeroplane. If they push the stick forward or backward, they volition exist inside the cockpit.
The aeroplane's registration number is RF-LS9130, RF referring to the Russia and LS to Los Santos respectively.
In the enhanced version, the Cargo Plane features a more detailed interior and cargo area, and the access ladder now appears slightly damaged.

Operation
Grand Theft Auto V and G Theft Auto Online
Despite its heavy weight and enormous size, the Cargo Airplane is considerably fast, but its handling is poor. Its large wingspan makes it rather difficult to execute sharp turns, but the very big wings in plow make it one of the most stable planes in the game. Strangely, for how large it is and the large wingspan and weight of the plane, information technology does non crave a very long runway to take off or land simply it does require a broad and flat 1, as it is very frail. It only takes about one to ane one/2 seconds to take off. Its high-output jet engines provide the aircraft with decent acceleration and a very high superlative speed, on par with that of the Jet. The plane is also very good at gliding in the consequence of engine failure, and depending on the distance, can glide for long distances earlier hitting the basis, giving the player time to reach one of the airports or find a suitable open area to perform an emergency landing.
The plane has a unique engine sound compared to other aircraft in the game, such as the Jet. It is also somewhat quieter than other jet-powered aircraft.
The Cargo Airplane can effortlessly ram other aircraft out of its way without sustaining impairment. Information technology can likewise survive being hit by several shipping. Even so, like any shipping, it will be destroyed instantly upon colliding with a wall while flying.

It is, notwithstanding, shot down by ii United states of america Air Strength P-996 LAZERs when Trevor refuses to land at Fort Zancudo. The plane then crashes into the Alamo Body of water, but Trevor manages to parachute out of the cargo bay door beforehand. The rear of the plane is heavily damaged from Trevor'southward dramatic entry, and droppings can be seen flying off the plane in this area. More debris, too every bit smoke and flames, are seen after the two LAZER fighter planes deploy their missiles.
- The Cargo Plane is also seen in the Strangers and Freaks mission Liquidity Run a risk. During the mission, Franklin uses an ATV to ride into the plane'due south rear cargo doors with Dom Beasley. The pair then jump out once the plane is airborne.
Grand Theft Auto Online
- Equally part of the Gunrunning business, a fully blackness Cargo Airplane appears in the mission Data Alienation as driblet-off point for the stolen Oppressors.
- The same plane also appears in the follow-up mission Work Dispute, the players ride the Oppressor motorcycles out of the plane to take downwards a rogue Mobile Operations Eye.

- Can spawn as part of some of the possible getaway vehicle prep missions of the Diamond Casino Heist.
Trivia
Grand Theft Auto 5 and Thousand Theft Automobile Online
- The Cargo Plane, unlike most controllable aircraft, has rotating turbines.
- During the gunfight sequence in Pocket-sized Turbulence, the vehicle remains static while mid-air. If the game is paused, the aeroplane interior can be seen on the map as a edifice. This is to prevent the player, other NPCs and props/vehicles from moving around while airborne.
- The Cargo Plane, along with the Jet and the Freight Railroad train, is non listed in the BradyGames guide.
- The wreckage of a Cargo Plane can exist found lying at the lesser of the sea, just off the western declension near Fort Zancudo, with a multifariousness of weapons scattered amid the debris. The plane wreck lies in shallow h2o, mainly situated on the very border of a steep, rocky underwater cliff covered past coral reefs. The front department of the plane, including the olfactory organ and cockpit seems to have cleaved off and is resting further downwards in deeper waters at the very bottom off the deep stop where the plane is situated. It is assumed that this is the outcome of a failed takeoff from Fort Zancudo. The placement of such shipping is odd since the track at Fort Zancudo is as well tight to allow Cargo Planes to land or accept-off at that place.
Bugs/Glitches
- Both the netting and the cargo in the nose compartment are visible on the front and upper side, only transparent on the other side. This tin exist seen by clipping the camera on the plane'southward nose, where the player can all the same come across about of the main cargo expanse.
- In offset person view, the character'south hands announced to be floating slightly above the command sticks. Moreover, different other controllable shipping, the thespian does not motion the sticks when using the aircraft'southward controls. Additionally, indicators are visible on the cockpit but are not functioning.
- If the player lands the plane during "Minor Turbulence", debris is still seen coming out of the plane.
Run across Also
- Jet - Some other large jet plane debuting in the aforementioned game.
- Andromada - Another cargo airplane featured in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.
